Recap

Yes, yes, I need to update more often. I'm aware of this as well. I guarantee you that you'll be begging me to stop once school starts, however.

Anyways, since it's been a while, I'll break it down by the days this week. I've realized that if I write more often, I can get more insightful commentary into each post instead of trying to get a lot of thinly written commentary in larger posts.

Sunday: After not having left for pretty much two weeks, I was getting quite stressed out. It didn't help that a set of Canadian cousins were running around the house. That being paired with not being able to be left alone for more than ten minutes led me to sneak out of the house to watch the weekly Venture Bros. episode with Steve and Co. It was well worth it. Plus, sneaking out all Solid Snake-like is always fun.

Monday: Worked from 9-6, which is actually not that bad. In fact, it doesn't matter when I start work (be it 9, 12, 1 or 2), it always feels like the same length of time. Afterwards, my family and I were supposed to go drop Rabiya off at the airport, but her flight was delayed and then canceled due to the awful weather. At that point, Faisal spent about fifteen minutes driving the full clover circle on Euclid and 53. So I got another night to hang out with Rabiya and Musa, which certainly was fun. Faisal and I also started watching Arrested Development, which is awesome.

Tuesday: Hung out with some friends whom I'd known at Augustana at Spring Hill Mall. It wasn't as fun as I thought it'd be since I guess a lot has changed since I left. It's to be assumed that it would, but either way, it almost seems futile in order to continue to pursue a lasting friendship with all those kids. I mean, having a simple conversation went from nostalgic to just awkward at several points.

Wednesday: Worked again. Afterwards, I walked to CVS to buy a few things...and didn't realize I'd left my Airsoft Colt 1911 in my man purse...the same pocket where my wallet was. I'm rather glad the cashier didn't notice, or I'd by typing this while being ass-raped in prison right now. Afterwards, I went to Mike's house and hung out. Soul Calibur IV is pretty cool, especially the character creator. Steve and I probably spend 90% of our time making characters and 10% actually playing the game.

Thursday: Hung out with Dennis, a former student of my brother's. I'm somewhat surprised we still get along really well, since we never actually spent much time together, as opposed to spending an entire year living with my Augustana friends.

Friday: Lindsay is a bitch. That's all that needs to be said.

And now for the random factoid!

The words for "nine," "daughter-in-law" and "fingernail" in Punjabi are all the same word. I have no idea how that makes sense (linguistically speaking). I suppose having nine daughters-in-law would mean you could have each of them cut one fingernail while you cut the last one. Then again, what's the linguistic connection between the two meanings of "duck"?

To be honest, I'd just gotten lazy and needed to end on a joke...at your expense.
